The AQT quantum computation team is geared to tackle several major challenges in the domain of near-term applications. We aim to thoroughly characterize the error models in current NISQ quantum processors, thereby elucidating approaches to maximize circuit performance. Such optimizations will span both the algorithm and engineering space.
Algorithm Co-design: Develop protocols for near-term, noisy quantum hardware to guide the development of next generation architectures
Integrated Science and Technology: Combine efforts in computer science, engineering, and physics to realize resource-efficient quantum hardware
Error Management: Develop protocols and designs to suppress and mitigate classical and quantum error mechanisms

The Advanced Quantum Testbed is structured to execute state-of-the-art quantum computations and simulations on its superconducting qubit platform:
- Implement quantum algorithms of broad scientific interest.
- Execute circuits to verify and validate (V&V) quantum hardware.
- Investigate noise mechanisms and fidelity loss.
- Partner with scientists in the community to explore the broad phase space of quantum information science and technology.
